IT Support Technician

Job Summary: IT Support Technician will provide assistance by answering questions, resolving technical problems and maintaining the organization's network, software and computer equipment.

Essential Functions

  • Supporting the IT department with an array of tasks.
  • Installing new equipment including computers/monitors/telephones/printers, scanners, etc
  • Assisting with hardware and software issues
  • Solving a high volume of network user issues
  • Continually update and maintain IT-related data
  • Documenting work done in SysAid IT Help Desk software
  • Travel between Queens, Manhattan and the Bronx throughout satellites in NYC in order to assist staff
  • Other related tasks that may be assigned.
  • Administer Help Desk

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field Required
  • At least 5 Years’ of Experience in IT
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware/software (including Windows Server 2012/2019, Windows 10, Office 2019/365) required
  • Knowledge of cable runs, testing and patching preferable
  • Valid NY State Driver’s License
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to complete all standard administrative and support tasks including but not limited to climbing up and down stairs, operation of computers/phones/fax/printer/copy machine, and the ability to lift boxes, furniture, and equipment up to 30lbs.
