Sheltering Arms seeks a dynamic clinical professional to launch an exciting new array of New York State funded services to Medicaid eligible children and youth (ages 0-21) at risk for, or diagnosed with, behavioral health conditions. These Children and Families Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS) are designed to be delivered in the community, including at home, in schools and at other locations where families and children gather.  Services are designed to be unique, flexible and targeted while also being client and family focused. The five services that Sheltering Arms has been designated to provide are: Other Licensed Professional (OLP), Community Psychiatric Supports & Treatment (CPST), Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR), Family Peer Support (FPS), and Youth Peer Support & Training (YPST).

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of the five CFTS services to the families and children served at Sheltering Arms
  • Provide clinical and administrative supervision to CFTSS staff
  • Educate Sheltering Arms staff and clients about CFTS services
  • Promote CFTS services within the agency and the community at large
  • Carry a clinical caseload as part of program ramp up
  • Interface and collaborate with all Sheltering Arms programs
  • Provide initial and ongoing training to CFTSS workers
  • Ensure appropriate documentation is maintained by all CFTSS workers
  • Work closely with Managed Care Organization Liaisons and the Sheltering Arms Utilization Manager
  • Ensure billing compliance
  • Collect data for QA and help develop quality measures
  • Update Policies and Procedures and create new procedures as needed
  • Attend meetings related to CFTS services
  • Audit preparation as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • LCSW
  • 3 years of supervisory, managerial and administrative experience
  • Knowledge of best practices working with children and families
  • Experience in child welfare and mental health
  • Self-motivated, self-starter
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus

Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to complete all standard administrative and support tasks including but not limited to climbing up and down stairs, operation of computers/phones/fax/printer/copy machine, and the ability to lift boxes, furniture, and equipment up to 30lbs. Must be able to travel from the various locations and sites of Sheltering Arms Children and Family Services.
