Director of Individual and Corporate Giving

 

Sheltering Arms Children and Family Services is seeking a Director of Individual and Corporate Giving to lead our fundraising, cultivation, and mobilization activities for individuals and corporations.  As a member of the Development team, you will be the lead strategy architect and agent for all activities related to individual and corporate donors and prospects.

As Director of Individual and Corporate Giving, you will work directly with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and be responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive individual and corporate giving strategy, track and report on the progress of that plan, and lead campaigns that build our base of supporters and our brand as a whole. You will closely collaborate with our entire team to impact the overall trajectory of our fundraising, branding, and public awareness efforts.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute individual and corporate engagement strategies that lead to new, robust, sustainable, and diverse funding streams
  • Develop and implement effective cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to engage prospects, donors, corporate partners, and volunteers
  • Develop and serve as the lead relationship manager for a portfolio of major and mid-level donors
  • Oversee the execution of our Annual Gala, including sponsorship strategy, Board of Directors engagement, and event logistics
  • Oversee the management of our volunteer programs including the annual Winter Wonders gift drive, corporate and volunteer group activities, and cultivate relationships with key individuals and organizations
  • In collaboration with the Marketing Manager, oversee donor solicitations and communications, and overall fundraising communication strategy
  • Support and provide the tools needed to the CEO, CDO, and Board of Directors in their solicitation and stewardship efforts

 

Qualifications:

 

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, detail-focused, highly organized professional with demonstrated success generating revenue through diversified funding streams, working well under pressure, and thriving in a fast-paced environment.

 

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of successful, direct fundraising experience
  • Proven success building individual and corporate giving programs and creating new, sustainable, and diverse funding streams
  • Demonstrated ability to close major gifts from individuals and other private funding sources
  • Skilled at engaging donors and prospects in stewardship events and solicitation meetings
  • Large-scale event management experience including sponsorship and honoree cultivation, pre- and post-event engagement of individual and corporate networks, strategic programming, and event management
  • Extremely effective oral and written communication skills with an ability to relate with a diverse group of individuals
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, accuracy, and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects producing high quality results on schedule

Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to complete all standard administrative and support tasks including but not limited to climbing up and down stairs, operation of computers/phones/fax/printer/copy machine, and the ability to lift boxes, furniture, and equipment up to 30lbs. Must be able to travel from the various locations and sites of Sheltering Arms Children and Family Services.
