Sheltering Arms is currently seeking competent Mental Health Therapist with expertise and experience to provide mental health services to children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse populations and the ability to exercise good judgments in emergency situations.


Essential Functions

  • Provide assessment, individual, group, family and play therapy with a trauma focused lens
  • Provide mental health care management to an assigned caseload
  • Develop initial and quarterly treatment plans
  • Provide crisis intervention sessions
  • Participate in Family Team conference(s)
  • Communicate evaluations and reports with medical and psychiatric staff, program staff, foster parents, and outside agencies
  • Other related task that may be assigned


  • Licensed Masters Degree in Social Work; LCSW preferred
  • Experiencing working with youth and families in a mental health and child welfare setting preferred
  • Supervisory experience
  • Proficient in Spanish; Bi-lingual preferred

Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to complete all standard administrative and support tasks including but not limited to climbing up and down stairs, operation of computers/phones/fax/printer/copy machine, and the ability to lift boxes, furniture, and equipment up to 30lbs. Must be able to travel from the various locations and sites of Sheltering Arms. Must attain a physical and PPD clearance.
