Jamaica Community Partnership Program organizes local public and private stakeholders; builds their capacity to support and stabilize families; and engages them with ACS and other City agencies through coordinated service referral, community-led programs, community awareness efforts, and informing City policy and practice related to child and family well-being.

Sheltering Arms is currently seeking for the Administrative Assistant that will support the administrative functions of the program.

Essential Functions

  • Provide administrative support to the Program Director and Community Organizer
  • Assist with data entry of referral tracking
  • Assist with collection of program data and completion of reports
  • Assist with the planning and execution of community events
  • Communicate with stakeholders, community partners, vendors, participants to organize events and activities
  • Complete order requests and assist with fiscal processing including but not limited to: payroll, petty cash disbursement and reconciliation of receipts
  • Maintain inventory and accountability for public education materials and supplies
  • Copy, scan, type, file and answer phones
  • Create flyers about community events and activities
  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong computer skills
  • Proficiency Microsoft office suite and graphic design software
  • Strong organization skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including late evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Committed to working toward community organizing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
