Quality Improvement Coordinator

Job Summary: Collects and compiles programmatic data and generates reports for tracking, monitoring, and ongoing quality improvement for Early Childhood programs. Tracks compliance and submits reports as requested.

Works with the QI Team to coordinate agency-wide and program quality improvement initiatives.


Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate on-going self assessment practices, monitor program performance, and facilitate and organize quality improvement initiatives and activities for early childhood programs
  • Research best practice and work with early childhood to implement best practice and model fidelity.
  • Work with early childhood programs to design and implement monitoring and tracking systems
  • Use data and tracking systems to monitor and report program performance
  • Work with the early childhood programs to develop and implement policy and procedure
  • Work with early childhood programs to prepare for governmental and Council on Accreditation reviews/audits, as well as assure that all programs are providing services in accordance with agency standards, federal, state and city regulations, and the guidelines of the Council on Accreditation
  • Conduct and coordinate case file reviews
  • Assist with data reconciliation and clean-up
  • Represent Sheltering Arms at community and funder meetings
  • Participate in relevant agency committees
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of persons and population served
  • Responsible for maintaining and ensuring compliance with client and agency confidentiality standards and ethical expectations
  • Responsible for participating in staff development, including attendance in training as required and/or requested
  • Other related tasks that may be assigned


  • Masters Degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
  • Three years of program experience in early childhood education and/or QA/QI.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented, flexible, organized and an effective communicator.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Word, Excel, and Access and knowledge of management information systems.
  • Knowledge of Connections and CCRS preferred.  
  • Willingness and ability to learn new systems.

Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to complete all standard administrative and support tasks including but not limited to climbing up and down stairs, operation of computers/phones/fax/printer/copy machine, and the ability to lift boxes, furniture, and equipment up to 30lbs.
