Fall/ Winter Campaign Specialist

We are seeking a Development Intern to support the External Affairs team at Sheltering Arms – one of the City’s longest serving non-profit organizations. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced volunteer to put their skills to work while assisting in certain events and campaigns vital to the organization’s continued growth. This role will support the expansion our city-wide corporate and community volunteering programs and will play a key role in the execution of our annual holiday drive and preparation for our annual Spring fundraising event.

 

You’ll be joining at an exciting time for Sheltering Arms, as we continue to significantly increase our child welfare, foster care, and juvenile justice programming. With the addition of new partner, Safe Space, we have expanded our service delivery to over 24,000 New Yorkers in need from the Bronx to Far Rockaway. The position is paid, and is able to offer college credit towards graduation.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Development team on priority fundraising proposals and the transition and management of Salsa Labs, our supporter CRM system.
  • Assist the Development team through comprehensive data management and tracking of volunteer and stewardship activities
  • Respond to and maintain relationships with prospective volunteers
  • Plan and logistically support corporate volunteer and fundraising events, as well as seasonal campaigns.
  • Receive and manage in-kind donation requests to the organization
  • Other associated tasks as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Required
  • Experience working in an office environment is required.
  • Excellent, proven written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to rapidly learn, improve, and respond to feedback.
  • Additional ability to collaborate well in a team
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Experience with Salsa Labs or similar CRM system is a plus
  • An intersectional understanding of social issues facing the City’s high-need communities.
  • Must be a candidate working toward, or with a Bachelor's Degree; preferably in marketing, public relations, social work, public affairs, and/or non-profit or business administration.

Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to complete all standard administrative and support tasks including but not limited to climbing up and down stairs, operation of computers/phones/fax/printer/copy machine, and the ability to lift boxes, furniture, and equipment up to 30lbs. Must be able to travel from the various locations and sites of Sheltering Arms.
