Job Summary: The Mental Health Administrator is responsible for assuring the continuous delivery of relevant quality mental health services to youth in the Foster Care and Adoption Programs, and the Sheltering Arms Reception Center. Provide Clinical and Administrative supervision to the mental health therapists assigned to each program, participation in relevant clinical and administrative meetings, and participation as needed in Family Team Conferences. The MH Administrator will be responsible to assure monitoring systems and documentation are performed per specifications of evidence based Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) model for delivery of psychotherapeutic services.

Essential Functions

  • Provides clinical supervision of therapy services for children, foster and biological families & and other identified planning resources in accordance with TF-CBT; lobbies energetically for the appropriate services for the youth both in individual and group capacities.
  • Assures the timely completion of all assessments and treatment plan progress, as well as therapist's entry of all relevant data into CONNX and other agency data collection systems.
  • Assure effective integration of effective Psychiatric services into each program
  • Participates in relevant FCA program and FTC conferences
  • Ensures efficacious treatment planning and service coordination in collaboration with internal and external resources
  • Assures timely delivery of reports from therapist, including initial assessments, psychosocial, and treatment reports
  • Represents Health Services at internal management meetings and appropriate external meetings
  • Instrumental in assuring the provision of formal and informal relevant training for FCA and SARC staff
  • Models and promotes dependable, responsible, professional and accountable behavior including positive program norms, enthusiasm, and teamwork primacy
  • Availability 24/7 for emergency contact
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • NYS Licensed Psychologist or LCSW required
  • Familiarity with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy
  • 5+ Years experience in Child Welfare
  • Experiencing working with youth and families placed in foster care and residential settings
  • Must be able to climb stairs and conduct visits to facilities and community based on partners
  • Knowledge of CONNECTIONS and Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to complete all standard administrative and support tasks including but not limited to climbing up and down stairs, operation of computers/phones/fax/printer/copy machine, and the ability to lift boxes, furniture, and equipment up to 30lbs. Must be able to travel from the various locations and sites of Sheltering Arms Children and Family Services.
