Sheltering Arms Children and Family Services is a multi-service social service agency that serves 20,000 New Yorkers each year. Our mission is to strengthen the education, wellbeing, and development of vulnerable children, youth, and families across the New York metro area so that everyone has the support and opportunity needed to maximize their potential. Through innovation and partnerships, we enable low-income children and families to take steps toward brighter futures, free from the cycle of generational poverty.
Sheltering Arms is seeking a Vice President for Child Welfare, Juvenile Justice and Youth Services who provides oversight for three agency divisions: 1) Adolescent Residential Care (four non-secure detention programs, four non-secure placement programs, one limited secure placement program and two foster care group homes); 2) Family Foster Care and Adoption, and 3) Youth Services (two youth centers, two residences for homeless youth and young adults, the ARCHES group mentoring program, and Cure Violence, a community based violence prevention program).
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
It is the policy of Sheltering Arms that the Agency wholly complies with the equal treatment of all employees and applicants for employment without unlawful discrimination as to an individual’s perceived or actual race, creed, color, national origin, alienate, citizenship status, gender, gender identity, age, disability, marital status, partnership status, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, or veteran status in all employment decisions, including but not limited to recruitment, hiring, compensation, training and apprenticeship, promotion, upgrading, demotion, downgrading, transfer, layoff and termination and all other terms and conditions of employment.
