Sheltering Arms is seeking a Foster Parent Recruiter to actively recruit for our foster homes, with a focus on foster homes for teens and large sibling groups, in the determined target communities.

This position is Contracted for up to 30 Hours per month.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct community outreach; ie. Churches, schools, community centers, recreation facilities
  • Plan and execute at least two community outreach events per month; ie. Meet and greets, presentations, etc.
  • Organize and effect two large scale community recruitment events per quarter
  • Perform street flyering weekly
  • Obtain and pre-screen at least 10 names/contact information for potential foster parents at each planned event
  • Pre-Certify at least 9 resource homes per quarter (pass clearances and register for MAPP)
  • Prepare monthly status reports
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, BA/BS preferred.
  • Knowledge of Foster Parent Recruitment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of State and City regulations relating to the foster care system, and to foster home certification/approval and re-certification/re-approval in particular
  • Ability to clearly present our mission to large groups of people
  • Good interpersonal skills and able to work as part of a team
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
