Sheltering Arms is seeking a Training Coordinator for our Adolescent Residential Care Program (ARC). The Training Coordinator provides full support to all training initiatives for staff of the ARC facilities. By providing ongoing opportunities for professional development, tracking all certifications and facilitating various trainings, the ARC Training Coordinator supports the goals associated with the Missouri Model of Juvenile Justice.


Essential Functions

  • Works closely with  program management in order to identify and uphold all training requirements for the program
  • Plans, organizes and implements a wide range of training activities for Adolescent Residential Care (ARC) staff
  • Develops training materials, curricula and handbooks that support staff needs
  • Evaluates the efficacy of training activities and initiatives, updates training program to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Researches information, resources and ongoing assessment of training needs
  • Acts as a resource to all staff with regard to feedback and guidance
  • Follow up and ensure that all staff members are current with all trainings and program requirements
  • Create Training Tracking Grid for all ARC staff
  • Responsible for maintaining Automated Restraint Tracking System (ARTS) and other databases
  • Other related duties as assigned



  • Bachelor Degree required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience developing training curriculum
  • Exceptional group facilitation skills
  • OCFS Training and SCM Certification preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to complete all standard administrative and support tasks including but not limited to climbing up and down stairs, operation of computers/phones/fax/printer/copy machine, and the ability to lift boxes, furniture, and equipment up to 30lbs. Must be able to travel from the various locations and sites of Sheltering Arms . Physical and PPD clearances required and reevaluated annually.
