Sheltering Arms is seeking a Adoption Supervisor who will provide experience, leadership, skill and training for staff assisting freed children and adopting parents in home community achieve speedy finalization.

Essential Functions

  • Model, train and supervise a team of five to six social workers.
  • Continuously demonstrate commitment to results, including formulating comprehensive plans for meeting all adoption goals and monitoring the progress of adoptions.
  • Arrange to deliver client services in home neighborhoods.
  • Manage all related paperwork to meet city and state mandates.
  • Collaborate with clinic specialists to meet health and educational needs.
  • Move cases towards finalization in timely fashion. Review each adoption milestone achievement and prepare for next one.
  • See that CCRS data is entered and printouts cross checked.
  • Maintain Sheltering Arms Adoption Manual and Blue Books.
  • Keep current with changing procedures and trainings.
  • Liaison with Sheltering Arms adoption attorney, with ACS and State Adoption representatives.
  • Oversee sealing of finalized records.
  • Develop Network groups in home neighborhoods for adopting parents and children.
  • Performs other duties as delegated


  • Master's Degree Required
  • At least two years child welfare supervisory experience required
  • Proven track record of organization skills, and completion of time-bound project
  • Know City and State Adoption Standards, Community outreach, group process skills
  • Advanced Clinic Skills
  • Excellent Interdisciplinary collaborative skills
