Job Summary: The Program Aide will assist with various organizational and program related administrative tasks for the Healthy Start project and is expected to follow the guidelines of Sheltering Arms agency policy and procedure manual outlines. Specific tasks will be defined by the program coordinator and the program director.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in picking up and sorting donations, clothing, baby supplies, and school supplies for Healthy Start clients and keeping resource cabinet and baby closet neat and organized
  • Assist in sorting developmental and emergency items for distribution to staff and Healthy Start families
  • Prepare program flyers and promotional items for events as well as assist with development of presentations as needed including prenatal workshops for Healthy Start families
  • Update and maintain program’s electronic resource manual and locate new community resources for Healthy Start staff to use in home visits
  • Conduct data entry such as entering training logs into the MIS database as well as assist staff in uploading documents in the MIS or filing documents (such as Family Goal Plans etc)
  • Assist at Healthy Start program events such as Holiday Party, Baby Showers, Mother/Father’s Day, Support Groups, etc.
  • Assist with purchasing refreshments and room set up for Healthy Start groups and workshops
  • Cover front desk as needed
  • Other supportive duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Understanding of Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Strong administrative skills

Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to complete all standard administrative and support tasks including but not limited to climbing up and down stairs, operation of computers/phones/fax/printer/copy machine, and the ability to lift boxes, furniture, and equipment up to 30lbs. Must be able to travel from the various locations and sites of Sheltering Arms.
