 Job Summary: The Resource Specialist’s responsibilities include performing administrative tasks, such as maintaining case files, updating referral information, and assisting with the upkeep of case records. The Resource Specialist supports the Supervisors and Therapist in Administrative and Child Welfare tasks. 

 

Essential Functions 

  • Assist Therapists with the completion of child welfare tasks
  • Cover cases and complete documentation in the absence of an assigned clinician as needed. 
  • Participate in weekly supervision and at times consultations.
  • Making child welfare required regular contacts with all of the children in the home (e.g.ensuring all children are seen at least once per month) 
  • Provide general case management services to family members (e.g. assisting family members in completing paperwork) 
  • Assist with documentation such as case notes, FASPs, treatment progress reports etc. 
  • Gathering resources for therapist to provide to clients (e.g.-camps, vocational/alternative school settings, housing info, recreational activities etc.) and link them to community resources. 
  • Assist with conducting monthly outreach activities (schools, hospitals, daycare, parks, ACS Borough offices, Family Court, and other local community based organizations) that educate and heighten awareness of Sheltering Arms preventive programs and services offered. 
  • Assist with canvassing community settings to target prospective clients at various community based organizations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Shift: M-F flexible hours between 8am-8pm (8 hour shifts) and some weekends

Qualifications

  • BA or High School Diploma with experience 
  • Child welfare practice experience a plus; thorough working knowledge of ACS preventive services system.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills 
  • Non-judgmental approach and ability to empathize with others;
  • Genuine interest in working with disenfranchised individuals; Self-motivation skills and the ability to work collaboratively 
  • Dynamic energy, able to multi-task and negotiate multiple demands on attention 
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
