Senior Payroll Coordinator

Sheltering Arms is currently seeking a  Senior Payroll Coordinator for our Finance Department. The Senior Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Accounting Supervisor with monthly close and other related tasks.

Essential Functions

  • Reviewing and recording payroll journal entries on a bi-weekly basis
  • Process payroll and review for accuracy of approved E-Time Sheet.
  • Review vacation and sick time hours
  • Run and maintain custom reports form ADP
  • Reconcile General Ledger accounts for salaries and benefits
  • Maintain ADP database to stay current with new allocation
  • Reconcile 941 in a quarterly basis
  • Reconcile W-2’s and process fiscal year-end report
  • Establish and maintain employee records, ensure that all employee changes are correct and made on a timely basis.
  • Maintain payroll schedule by department and cost centers
  • Assist with implementing E-time
  • Train staff on ADP/E-time
  • Verify payroll was process correctly
  • Assist with audits
  • Assist with monthly and yearly closing of GL
  • General Leger accounts analysis
  • Special projects
  • Performs other duties as delegated


  • BS/BA in Accounting
  • Five or more years of related work experience
  • Proficiency in computerized accounting systems and Microsoft office

Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to complete all standard administrative and support tasks including but not limited to climbing up and down stairs, operation of computers/phones/fax/printer/copy machine, and the ability to lift boxes, furniture, and equipment up to 30lbs. Must be able to travel from the various locations and sites of Sheltering Arms.
