Sheltering Arms is seeking a Site Director for our Non Secure Placement (NSP) facility. The Site Director will be responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day operations of the facility and the effective management of staff. The Site Director will run a home characterized by a supportive environment, conducive to self-improvement and where the quality milieu is as safe as it is programmatically sound. The Site Director is the main link in assuring the provision of safe, secure, orderly, and quality services to the residents who are serving time in the facility.
- Assures that the NSP facility complies with agency, city and state standards, and that staffing ratios are maintained.
- Support the principles of the Missouri Model with the end goal teaching the young people to make positive, lasting changes in their behavior by preparing them to be self-sufficient through education and work experience.
- Prepares full time staff schedules and ensures proper coverage utilizing per diem staff.
- Approves time sheets (payroll) and prepares overtime reports.
- Appropriately documents accidents, illnesses, incidents, injuries, and other relevant reports
- Provides regular weekly supervision to shift supervisors and all staff who report directly to the Site Director. Maintains a supervisory log to document this supervision.
- Holds staff to high performance standards to ensure they accomplish all functions and provide quality services to the residents.
- Collaborates with Assistant Program Director, Director of ARC, and Human Resources to ensure ongoing progressive discipline and the full accountability of staff behaviors.
- Orient new Youth Specialist staff and provides ongoing training, support, and quality supervision
- Ensure that all staff maintain training compliance as per ACS and OCFS mandates
- Oversee the fiscal management of the facility with respect to petty cash fund, clothing, purchasing, food ordering, household and personal hygiene supplies, etc.
- Upholds the principles of the Missouri Model within the NSP home.
- Work as part of a team of case planner, youth specialists, educators, clinicians, and nurses to support each youth as they work to meet their individual goals.
- Responsible for appearance and safety of the facility.
- Assures that agency vehicles are properly maintained
- Schedule weekly team meetings and monthly staff meetings
- Share on-call responsibilities with Assistant Program Director
- Other related tasks that may be assigned
- BA/BS/BSW in related field required.
- MSW or relevant Master’s Degree preferred, LMSW preferred
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in related field.
- 7 Years of experience working with directly with court-related youth, 3 years in a residential setting
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to maintain required documentation
- Strong knowledge of ACS mandates and policies
- Strong knowledge of court- related youth population
- Strong knowledge of group home operations
- Prior experience with fiscal management
- Must be able to pass required Safe Crisis Management (SCM) training
