Early Head Start Health Services Coordinator

  • To conduct the medical intake for children and pregnant mothers entering the program.
  • Review medical/dental forms to ensure that all information is recorded and that participant’s physician/dentist has conducted the necessary examination for entrance into the program.
  • Provide staff and parent workshops on health related issues.
  • Create a Health Advisory Committee with community partners and resources.
  • Ensure children have access to dental and vision screenings.
  • To conduct and record height/weight and head circumference of each child.
  • To discuss any medical concerns that parents may have.
  • Maintain accurate case records and documentation to meet the Early Head Start Standards and ensure that parents are maintaining well baby care visits as required by the EPSDT and all children’s immunizations are up-to-date.
  • To update and maintain accurate health data tracking in accordance with the EHS requirements.
  • Maintain Allergy Restrictions list, First Aid Kits,
  • Provide parents with community resources and referrals as needed to meet their ongoing medical care.
  • To provide newborn visits within 2 weeks of birth to ensure mom and child’s wellbeing.  
  • To be ethical in all dealings with children, families and community representatives.
  • To respect the privacy and confidentiality of children and parents.
  • Travels to and from two Bronx day care locations to provide these services.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services or Medical Degree/LPN, RN
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • First Aid and CPR trainings required and recertified as needed


  • Prior experience working with young children and pregnant women preferred.
  • Bilingual/Spanish or French preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
