Sheltering Arms is a social services organization with many comprehensive programs whose mission is to strengthen the education, wellbeing, and development of vulnerable children, youth, and families across the New York City metro area. One of the many Sheltering Arms services is to provide care for children in foster care and juvenile detention. The Sheltering Arms Health Services clinic is a centralized medical home that provides and coordinates comprehensive, trauma informed, and evidence based medical, mental health and dental care for all of the children placed in our foster care and juvenile detention.
At Sheltering Arms, the pediatric provider provides comprehensive pediatric care for all of our children and adolescents in foster care, group homes and our juvenile justice programs in our South Bronx clinic. The pediatric provider provides care within the team of health services staff, including nurses, medical assistants, nurse practitioners, pediatricians, administrative assistants, psychiatrists, mental health therapists, dentists and dental assistants.
It is the policy of Sheltering Arms Children and Family Services that the Agency wholly complies with the equal treatment of all employees and applicants for employment without unlawful discrimination as to an individual’s perceived or actual race, creed, color, national origin, alienate, citizenship status, gender, gender identity, age, disability, marital status, partnership status, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, or veteran status in all employment decisions, including but not limited to recruitment, hiring, compensation, training and apprenticeship, promotion, upgrading, demotion, downgrading, transfer, layoff and termination and all other terms and conditions of employment.
